The conducting authorities for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) are divided between the two stages:
• JEE Main: Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
• JEE Advanced: Conducted by one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on a rotating basis under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).
Overview of Conducting Authorities
• JEE Main (National Testing Agency / NTA):
• The NTA administers JEE Main twice a year for admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
• It also serves as the mandatory qualifying test for students who wish to appear for JEE Advanced.
• JEE Advanced (IITs on Rotation):
• A different designated IIT organizes the exam each year (for example, IIT Roorkee conducted JEE Advanced 2026).
• It is the sole gateway for undergraduate admissions into the various IITs across India.825 chars · codepastes.com
