Three steps to a memorable paste link

1

Pick your name

Type it in the Custom URL field - codepastes.com/<your-name>. Check availability live as you type.

2

Paste your code

One file or many, 100+ languages with syntax highlighting. Everything else works as usual.

3

Share the link

Your paste lives at a clean, memorable URL - perfect for docs, READMEs, tickets, and chats.

Link to codepastes.com/install-script instead of editing Markdown blocks every release. Update the paste, keep the URL.

Memorable links for teams

codepastes.com/onboarding-setup beats a 16-character random ID in Slack threads and onboarding checklists.

Shareable demo snippets

Give every demo a name people can type: codepastes.com/react-fetch-hook. No link shortener needed.

FAQ

How do I get a custom URL for my code paste?

Type your preferred name into the Custom URL field of the paste form - for example "my-fix" - and create the paste. Your code is then reachable at codepastes.com/my-fix.

What characters can a custom paste URL contain?

Custom URLs use 3 to 64 letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores, and cannot start or end with a hyphen or underscore. Uppercase letters are lowercased automatically.

Can two pastes use the same custom URL?

No. Each custom URL is unique across the whole site - including randomly generated paste links - and is claimed by the first paste that reserves it. Availability is checked live as you type.

Does a custom URL paste work with passwords and expiry?

Yes. Custom-URL pastes support every paste option: public, unlisted, or private with password encryption, expiring links, and burn-after-read.

Is a custom URL paste searchable or indexed?

Only if you make it public. Public custom-URL pastes behave like any public paste; unlisted and private ones are never listed or indexed.
